Talking Awesome beginner Farming build, Farm Anything.

Ok, this build works AWESOME for beginners, you just have to get the timing and energy management down. I farm droks troll and giants, griffons, minotaurs & dune burrowers and sand drakes. I could probably do more but i don't know of any other melee only mobs, if you do, feel free to post.(I find farming each spot 2-3 times then switching could, as it makes the drop rate stay high, also, change is good)

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h4...ntral/JUMP.jpg

Cyclone Axe | Thrill of Victory | Bonetti's Defense | Shield Stance | Galdiator's Defense | Dolyak Signet | Watch Yourself | Healing Signet

Strength: 10 (going to get a rune soon)
Axe Mastery: 9
Tactics: 14(12 + 1 + 1)

I start out by getting Watch Yourself and Dolyak up then once i take 120~ damage, Glads. The key to this(especially for big mobs) is to keep your stances up until they are GONE. Immediatley hit the next stance. The system is use is:

Glad, Shield, Glad, Bonetti(x2), Shield, Glad, Bonetti(x2), Shield, Glad and so forth.

Bonetti only bridges you over within 4(shield) and 8(glad) seconds of your next stance, so i usually make sure i have dolyak and watch yourself up then hit bonetti's, watch yourself gets recharged by the time Dolyak needs to go again, so use both of them, cyclone then throw up bonetti's again, until You're at full energy and Shield is ready to go. When bonetti's is fading, i like to use healing signet then because 1) I usually need it and 2) makes full use of the stance, and allows you to cyclone or ToV the poop out of the mob. Once Shield is gone, use glads and then just keep going like that.

Dolyak and Watch Yourself are good as with the attribute set i have, they cancel out the -40 of healing signet, and also keep damage under 10 usually. Make full use of them, because if you are constantly attacking, both of them are free.

I made about 15k in 6 hours(with breaks) aswell as some good drops. That was my first day of farming, dying to about 4 mobs of 6+. I hope you enjoy it since it's a lot of fun to see that golg aegis fall from Tundra giants.

FYI-the ranger troll boss is unbeatable, while the warrior takes time(worth it, i got a max, gold req 8 War Axe drop from him, along with 100 gold and another time a shiverpeak key and a purple hammer)

For the unbeatable troll boss & sand drakes, and trolls, etc.

Strenght & Tactics 11, Swords 12 (minor runes only, stats not set in stone, a higher tactics score might be better)

1. Some weapon attack, I use Pure Strike
2. Riposte
3. Deadly Riposte
4. Shield/Defensive
5. Bonnetti's
6. Gladiator's
7. Dolyak
8. Healing Sig

Simple enough, spam both Ripostes and your weapon attack. Keep a stance and Dolyak up at all times. Be careful not to cast Healing Sig without Dolyak up. Be careful not to break your Bonnetti's or Shield stance with skills (such as refreshing Dolyak).

As for gear, stance shield reccomended. For armor, I'd suggest Glads chest and legs, take what you want for the rest.

To the op: for the trolls you don't even need shield stance. Each swing of cyclone will fully recharge bonettis. Using bonettis in turn will solve your energy issues
A furious axe mod makes it even easier, but isn't really needed. I use an ele dmg axe on them.

To make troll farming efficient, take sprint so you get to that cave faster and don't have to run cycles around the avicara.

Grats to your drops, but you will find they will get worse over time, even if you recycle farm areas.

Swap dolyak for Galrath slash, and you have the standard grawl build...
For that you should increase swords to 15/16, tactics to 12/13 and the rest in str. Btw: How would the ripostes help against the troll ranger boss. He uses no melee attack ? I have not tried your build yet, but I have to admit I am a bit sceptical Pure Strike is enough to counter his troll unguent. Particularly at 12 swords only...

The troll boss(I hope you're talking about the one with the evade skill...) wil hit you in melee.I kill him only with a riposte build(riposte, deadly riposte and gladiator's defense).

Yes, I stand corrected, he uses melee attacks,

I wasn't farming trolls in a while, just now helped a friend to cap escape, the riposte thing works.
Rest of my post is right though.

1. Defensive Stance
2. Riposte
3. Deadly Riposte
4. Shield Stance
5. "Watch Yourself"
6. Gladiator's
7. Dolyak
8. Healing Sig

12+3 Tactics
9+2 Strength
9+1 Swordsmanship
Use a vampiric sword when in the melee and watch them beat themselves to death.
I'm going from memory on this, i don't run this build my friend does so a may of put a wrong skill or stat in.
Also you can switch out something for Wild Blow and say good night to the ranger boss with Escape.

Why use a vampiric sword? Only damage comes from ripostes and glads, meaning it's a bit of an endurance fight. So aren't you hurting yourself more than the enemies?

EDIT

All trolls are melee. As for Pure Strike, it's mostly there to give me a few extra points of damage. It helps against the Troll Ungent. An interrupt might not be a bad idea either, but the Ranger Troll goes down. A bit slow compared to the Warrior Boss Troll, but he goes down nontheless....

Thanks for the advice, but what would you suggest replacing shield stance with? An attack? Different Stance? Because, if u take that away, i can only attack for 11 seconds every 30 seconds(glads).

Also, I'm feeling the affects of overfarming, i had a run with about 14 tusks and 1 50g raven staff. Anything i can do to counter this? I havent tryed waiting awhile, since it's only the second day with this build and I'm rather excited.

Thanks,
Thor

For the first question: depends on where your problems with the build are
If you need to heal often, you could use watchfull spirit (2 pips regen w/o a single point in heal) gives you a constant base heal, but uses 1 pip of regen.
If you want to kill faster, add an attack, e.g. desperation blow, since you use dolyak.
Personally I use different builds, even different secondaries for the different farm areas.
I'd recommend you play around a bit with skills.

Overfarm: Don't do it
Rotate farm areas instead of doing each several times in a row. Mix in quests and missions, help guildies etc.
Farming for several hours in the same place is your best bet to reduce drops for several days.
There's alot of threads about that. In particular: Check Massacre's rune farm thread in this forum
