The Christoper Columbus Project (Southern Shiverpeaks Collectors + More Documented)
Continuing my npc mapping project started here, I have finally finished my exploration of the Southern Shiverpeaks area. I've completed the same sort of map project for the entire as in the desert. So without further ado here we are:
Credits:
-- Thanks to MooManiBe, the mapping madman, for the base maps!
-- Thanks to Little Thom, Alesia, Lina, Durham, Orion, Reyna, and Stefan for accompanying me on the sweeping of most of these areas.
Why I make this information available for everyone:
My kind-hearted nature and over-the-top generosity! The local homeless shelter didn't need my help this weekend so I thought I'd offer it up to the gwonline community ;). Actually, I enjoy working with digital imaging and web design software. I also have a thing for logistics. Couple those things with my exploring nature in this game and this is the result. I do feel like I'm performing a sort of public service with things like this which also makes me feel warm 'n' fuzzy inside.
The Logistics System:
-- A-Z - The first character in each unique identifier for all NPCs - This letter denotes the area (Post-Searing Ascalong, Kryta, etc). Coding system is as follows:
(represenative letter of alphabet) -- Area of the World Map
A -- Pre-Searing Ascalon
B -- Post-Searing Ascalon
C -- Northern Shiverpeaks
D -- Land of Kryta
E -- Maguuma Jungle
F -- Crystal Desert
G -- Southern Shiverpeaks
H -- Ring of Fire Island Chain
-- The second and third characters in each unique identifier are made up of a two digit number from double zero to 99. The following describes what each range of numbers means in the following format:
(range) -- characteristic of the npc -- representative color of its icon on the map
(00-29) -- Collector which offers items -- Lime Green
(30-49) -- Collector which offers armor -- White
(50-59) -- Any sort of materials crafter -- Dark Purple
(60-69) -- Any other kind of crafter -- Orange
(70-79) -- General Category of Other -- Sky Blue
Two 10 digit brackets are reserved in the case that ANet implements a totally new kind of NPC into the explorable areas.
Getting more detailed information about an NPC:
The system is rather simple. If you would like an image and/or more detailed information about what that npc offers, you click their respective link. Currently, all clickable links lead to an image which contains all the detailed information about what services they offer and its cost.
For example, if I would like more information about the collector, Volsung Stoneketil, who is identified by the unique ID: G02. I would simply click the link G02 text or icon link G02. The following image would then be loaded into a new internet browser window: http://members.skill-club.com/TriX/G...Stoneketil.jpg.
A project whose goal is to complete maps of the same level of detail for all the regions in the Guild Wars world. My intetions are to complete at least all collectors/crafters/statues/oddball in the middle of nowhere like the Seer for the remaining areas during this week. These lower-level areas should take minimal time since I already have them fully explored and can either run them or sweep them rather quickly.

Good Job! :happy14: I've been looking everywhere for something like this! Running around with my warrior looking for collectors isn't too fun... glad you did the grunt work  Anyway, very nice :worship:
I guess this pretty much confirms the focus items which gives 30 health *without* the -1 regen (but only 12 energy), isn't given out by collectors. I was hoping perhaps it was somewhere in the shiverpeaks, but I guess it's just something that's a godly drop or "free" to PvP folks. Kinda strange it's available off the bat within PvP and not easily attainable in PvE (like the other focus items>
Well then....you beat me too this, you actually went through with it, I always said I was going to do it, but I was way too lazy, but bravo, nice work. :happy65:

That sucks :(.
...at the same time, thanks for your hard work!
There's a small chance it is a collectors' item I suppose. The only map I have not swept completely (sweep meaning kill everything and explore everything) is Lonar's Pass. My usual henchmen brigade aren't worth much with a high dp (esp. tanking healers). I've explored the upper 35% maybe of it and the extreme bottom. There's a chance there may be another collector somewhere in the middle.
I also discovered a new speicies of frost wurms in Mineral Springs. They are two smaller ones (compared to the big frost wurms in Lonar's) in the southeast corner of Mineral Springs. They use necro skills and also hit for ~90dmg on my maxed armor.
I have never found a collector in the Ring of Fire even though mobs drop collector items. Some say there are collectors there, but they just get killed by the roaming patrols. That doesn't make sense to me (why would they put collectors next to roaming mobs of ten hydras??), but maybe there is some truth in it. Also, I have not documented the Jungle yet so perhaps there is the odd collector there with max items.
First of all great map. I know the collectors used to not display all mods on items , I assume this was changed? There is another site out there with maps of collectors but its not interactive like yours. According to the other site the Ring of Fire Island Chain hasnt had the collectors implemented yet.
Do you have a general link to the maps you made? The one you have "click here " leads to the desert? If you do and I missed it just shoot me Im over tired anyways
