People want to show off a bit, they've completed the game...they have all the skills...they have all this gold, they've found the perfect weapon and now they want the flashy armor to go with it...but flashy in the "I just spent heaps of gold on this" way, not flashy in the "look how much skin this armor shows off" way.
True perhaps, but if you're just looking for a "flashy" armour, guess what, plenty of choice: there's 3 other armours that are designed purely for LOOKS. Because thats all the 15k armours are about: looks.

If you don't like the way one looks, buy another one. If you want it to be functional, buy the 1.5k.

(but then again, this is just my way of looking at things. I always buy armours for the way it looks, screw the stats. This game is about skill remember :happy53: )

Oh and also. Should you ladies really feel the need to Grasp and Dominate power over men. There is a great fantasy/fiction book series out there called The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan. In this book the women are very very agressive with their power.

(i apologize to the authorities if i am not allowed to post this).

I just happen to be in the nabor hood of Morhans Grotto, with my E/Mo19, my only infused gear was armor 30(sold to vendor :[) oh yha it was fun.

but long story short its easy to see poeple with the 15K armor sets.

only took about 55min from Iron Mines with henches (cleared whole way, died 1544044564514122315454123 times, give er take a few billion deaths) all in all it was a safe trip.

its cute see'n Icy Ground.

It is not of my opinion that the developers designed these characters to look "slutty". Instead, I believe they developed these costumes based upon how this kind of fantasy era is portrayed.

If you feel that these costumes are way too provacative .... perhaps you could ask the developers to add in a bonus feature that only the female characters wearing theses costumes could perform. The ability to freeze any and all opponents upon sight for the next 5 seconds. (Probably won't happen but it'll give the impression of every male with jaws dropped and mouths drooling :happy05: ).

If you feel that i have upset you in any way please feel free to send me a private message or email me regarding a huge *slap* accross the face.
Not upset at all. And I can acknowledge that fantasty games have clothes people would not really wear. I don't even mind if they are attractive and somewhat revealing. I think the female druids however goes into a slutty revealing just to be showing skin. It doesnt even look well done to me, like most of the other 15ks do. I would of hoped the artist could of made something that covered say 60% of the torso, looked good and interesting, yet still had a revealing element to give all the males out there something they would enjoy looking at (hey I work in marketing and I know that this is just a reality). If sexy is what they were going for, the artist should remember that sometimes the suggestion is the sexiest part.

i had a pretty good idea some would be, game designers can be pretty predictable...but anyway while it may have had little/no affect on initial sales it certainly affects post-release (or post-release of the "skimpy" armor) sales and sales of the first expansion pack.
It's a tactic for encouraging the "teen male" type gamer to keep playing and to buy the next expansion.

Quite often actually. If I had a penny for everytime some airhead teenager that thinks she's cool has insulted me, I'd be rich.
Try reading all related posts before responding to one...i wasn't talking about someone insulting you, i was talking about being harassed, inappropriate sexual comments etc..
Plenty of times i've been invited into groups only to be bombarded by comments like "shake it baby" or "dance for us" etc..., i can just imagine what would happen if my character did run around in a bikini.

Uhhm, as a ranger, you HAD 8 choices in armour (4 regular, 3 15k, 1 fissure), now you have 9(4 regular, 4 15k, 1 fissure). How is that limiting choices?? If anything, it's expanding choices.
Once again read all related posts before commenting...

I already explained a couple of times how the choices are limited

Looks = approx 65k
Additional set of armor that has the stats you want that looks like everyone else's = approx 6.5k extra

Most people would want just the one set that fulfills their needs and still "looks cool".

Ah screw it. I'm not gonna argue. Have it your way: you're right, I'm wrong.

*withdraws from the pointless discussion*

ps. I did read all the previous posts and secretly still think I'm right

hmmm

Just wanted to say, personally I like the female 15k druid set. My biggest gripe about the female ranger was that none of the armour looked 'nice' to me. Granted it may not look like armour, but it makes me happy. Mission accomplished ANet.
Now, I understand where many female players are coming from and they feel that the armour is trashy. However, the biggest complaint I've heard is 'lack of options' now. You still have three options for druids armour, 1.5k, 15k, and Fissure of Woe. If one of these options is unnacceptable to you as a player, that doesn't it mean it isn't a valid option in general, it means that it isn't an option to you specifically. Now, I can understand the frustration, but claiming you don't have any options isn't exactly accurate.

Option, from dictionary.com is defined as
1) The act of choosing; choice
2) The power or freedom to choose

and so on. You have the option. You've made the choice. Just because you choose NOT to use it doesn't mean it isn't an option. For all those who like the 15k druid's, they can choose to buy it. An option doesn't mean you HAVE to like it. I have the option of burning my copy of guildwars and smashing my computer with a hammer, but I don't think I'll do that ;)
