GuildWars saw a major skill update last week. In a series of blogs I’ll point out trends in balancing and new builds with updated skills. Up today: Elementalists, Monks, Assassins, Dervish, Mesmer and your mother.

Some people complain that GW offers little content that is finished fairly quickly, but meanwhile I’ve been at it for 3.5 years now, and I feel that there is so much more that I can do. On the flip side, some argue that WoW offers tons of content, but I beg to differ. Why do people get such divergent opinions? Well, it really depends on how you define content, and what kinds of content you consider valid or not. And I do hope that this blog entry will help even veterans find something new in Guild Wars.

Hey all

Must have done something right with last weeks blog since I’m back. Once again I’m taking a look at what’s been going on in the land of Guild Wars and continuing on with the speculation of Guild Wars 2’s World vs World PvP format. Hopefully won’t be much longer till I’m having a look at the previous week’s battles but until then speculation will just have to see us through. Anyway onwards with this week’s blog and feel free to leave comments, criticisms or even a friendly poke with a stick.

No, I am sorry. This is not about the envy of female Assassins when they stand next to Elementalists or the notorious Rit in Shing Jae armour. This is about the small locked chests that are scattered around Tyria and that nobody ever opens.

Well, I have to say, Hard mode is quite hard if you’re unprepared. Sometimes just slightly tweeking you’re builds and your hero’s builds could make all the difference. Take this example, I tried doing Vizunah Square in Hard Mode and got completely destroyed every time, the only way I was able to beat it was to run a dual discording necromancers on both parties. We ripped right through it. I have to say Discord is probably way overrated and everyone has one, but I have to say, its quite a nice set up. Sabway is a nice setup as well.

Goal-seeking becomes far easier when you think synergistically. Here’s a few advice, in the context of titles and GW goals, that you may find yourself applying in real life. Synergy is a neat term to describe cases where the whole (end result) is greater than the sum of its parts (actions). If you’re thinking hitting two birds with one stone, you’re on the right track (although why the aggression towards birds, I don’t know). Hey all.

Quick introduction time for those who don’t know me. I’m Mal and have been playing Guild Wars for near enough four and a half years now, as well as being a member/mod of GWO for about the same time. Mostly I play as a Ranger of the same name and can usually be found lounging around Lion’s Arch. For those who do know me: Yes I am blogging and no the Ring of Fire islands haven’t frozen over.

My fellow blogger Alaris first thought I want to write about my marriage to the game, when I told him about this blogs title (or perhaps he thought I had licked too many Hylek toads).
